Michelle Nelson is an Associate at Inglesino, Webster, Wyciskala & Taylor, LLC and concentrates her practice on land use and zoning, redevelopment, municipal law and regulatory and government affairs. Ms. Nelson handles matters associated with providing assistance to clients in the area of redevelopment which include review and analysis of site plans, preparation of development applications, preparing redevelopment agreements. Prior to joining Inglesino, Webster, Wyciskala, and Taylor, Ms. Nelson served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Newark Law Department where she specialized in advising the Department of Economic and Housing Development on legal matters including redevelopment, real estate, and tax-exempt financing transactions. In addition to her specialty in Local Redevelopment Law and Municipal Land Use, Ms. Nelson is also versed in Municipal Procurement, Local Public Contracts Law, Open Public Records Act, and the Open Public Meetings Act. Working in a progressive, fast pace municipality Ms. Nelson was allocated to handle high-level complex matters. In her capacity as Assistant Corporation Counsel she drafted contracts, resolutions, memorandums of understanding, and ordinances, as well as reviewed redevelopment agreements, financial agreements, request for proposals and bid specifications.
Ms. Nelson’s endeavors with the City also included periodically representing the City as an Assistant Municipal Prosecutor handling criminal, domestic, and traffic offenses.
Ms. Nelson served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michael Petrolle, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division, Essex County. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science, and Rutgers School of Law.
